True bay leaf, not to be confused with California bay leaf (which is more mentholated). Commonly used in European and North American cuisine for soups, stews, meats, seafood, and vegetable dishes. Also used in Indian cuisine for biryani and many salads. .
Taking bay leaf in large amounts might cause sleepiness and drowsiness. Medications that cause sleepiness are called sedatives. Taking large amounts of bay leaf along with sedative medications might cause too much sleepiness.

Bay leaf Tea…
Take three or four fresh or even dried bay leaves and water in a pot
Cover and boil over a high flame for about 3 minutes
Remove the pot from the heat and steep the tea for 4 minutes
Sweeten with honey or sugar and strain it
Add a bit of lemon juice for a tangy taste
